About
read before you install. or don't.
Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition is the first console edition of Minecraft to be released on a Sony-manufactured console, developed by 4J Studios for Mojang Studios. The game was released on September 17, 2013 and is officially discontinued, no longer updated but still available digitally and physically. It features native 720p resolution upscaled to 1080p, surprisingly smooth performance on the PS3 despite the console's 256MB RAM limitation, and includes all features from the corresponding PC version at the time including Survival, Creative, Adventure, and Hardcore modes. Players can explore procedurally generated worlds, build structures, craft items, mine resources, fight mobs, and survive the night. The PS3 Edition includes exclusive minigame mode not found in other versions, mashup packs, and the old tutorial world with the citadel and creeper boat. Online multiplayer allows hosting your own worlds to play with friends, and minigame lobbies remained active even years after discontinuation.
