How to Cool Down Your Gaming PC or Laptop

Is your gaming rig heating up like a volcano? High temps can cause lag, crashes, or even hardware damage. Here are simple ways to cool things down and game smoother:

1. Clean Your Fans & Vents

Dust is the enemy. Use compressed air to clean intake/exhaust vents, CPU fans, and GPU heatsinks at least once a month.

2. Use a Cooling Pad (for Laptops)

Cooling pads add airflow underneath your laptop and reduce base temperature by 5–10°C. A must-have for laptop gamers.

3. Improve Airflow (for Desktops)

4. Adjust Graphics Settings

High frame rates = more heat. Limit FPS to 60 or turn on V-Sync. Reduce shadows and reflections for a cooler GPU.

5. Repaste Your CPU/GPU

If your device is 2+ years old, replace thermal paste. It can drop temps by 5–15°C. Only do this if you're confident or ask a tech.

6. Use Power Saver or Silent Mode (Laptop)

Many gaming laptops include "eco" or "silent" profiles in software like Armoury Crate or Lenovo Vantage. These throttle heat without killing performance.

7. Monitor Temps

Use tools like HWMonitor, MSI Afterburner, or Core Temp. If your CPU goes above 90°C or GPU above 85°C, take action.

🔥 Bonus Tip: Undervolting

Advanced users can undervolt their CPU or GPU to reduce heat with zero performance loss. Try tools like Intel XTU or Ryzen Master carefully.

Staying cool = staying in the game. Don’t let heat throttle your skills. More performance tips coming soon on Glitchify.
